For more than 20 years, our family of four dreamed of creating a special place to call home on beautiful Lake Kennisis. After decades of renting cottages and making lifelong memories here, we finally found the perfect property — an aging cottage set on one of the most spectacular shorelines on the lake, complete with breathtaking sunsets, rugged rock outcroppings, and incredible stone landscaping. While the original cottage was mostly beyond repair, the setting itself felt truly magical and impossible to replace.

After years of imagining what could be built there, we discovered a uniquely designed home from Estonia that immediately captured our hearts. Crafted with exceptional European materials — including stunning windows and doors, beautifully engineered stairs, and remarkable natural lumber — the design blended modern architecture with warmth, comfort, and connection to nature. Following an 18-month building journey filled with care, creativity, and countless decisions, this lakeside retreat has become everything we hoped for.
